Child Meal Tracker -Setup and Use

Article Summary

This article explains how to use the Child Meal Tracker to record or view meals served one child at a time. You may also count meals for all children at once using the Daily Meal Tracker .

Before You Begin

  1. Make sure Food Program Age Groups are set up correctly under the Family Data section of Region / School Options.
  2. The date of birth for each child should be entered on their Person Information screen so they may be counted in the appropriate age group.
  3. Each child must be assigned a Food Program Status like Free, Reduced or Paid and a Primary Classroom on their Information & Relationships screen.

Getting There

Each child has their own record of meals served. Use it to make manual adjustments or to process meal counts for just one child.

1. Look Up the family and click once on the name of the child to select them.
2. Click the Meal Tracker icon (hamburger) on the child toolbar.

Individual Child Meals

Meals served may be recorded (or changed) manually or the counts may be automated. You may wish to start with an automated count then make manual adjustments for meals the child was not served, etc.

Manual adjustments

  1. Choose one of the following

    • You may check the box next to a meal for a given day to count the meal. To remove a meal just uncheck the box.
    • Or select check the Apply to All box at the top of meal column like “B” for breakfast to count all breakfasts for the selected month.
  2. When finished with meal counts click Save > Exit.

Automated counts
To use this feature you must set up Classroom Meal Times.

  1. Choose one of the following

    • Click the Schedule button to automatically count meals for the selected month based on this Child’s Schedule.
    • Click the Attend button to automatically count meals for the selected month based on this Child’s Time Card (requires Attendance Tracker).
  2. When finished with meal counts click Save > Exit.

Notes:

  • A red/pink background on the Child Meal Tracker screen indicates the child was not enrolled during those dates. See Enrollment Status.
  • A green background is used for days this location is normally closed based on your Hours of Operation as set under the General section of Region / School Options.
  • A blue background indicates a day this location is closed based on specific School Close Dates for things like holidays and breaks.
