Security Questions

Article Summary

If you have not already done so, you’ll be required to select security questions when you log on. If you later forget your password, you’ll be able to reset it (to match your username) by answering your questions.

Getting There

The Security Questions screen is accessed in several ways:

a. First Time Log On: You’ll need to choose your questions and answers the first time you log on to Procare. This would happen right after you log on and change your password.

b. Log On After Update: You’ll need to choose your questions and answers the first time you log on after Procare Cloud is updated to version 10.2.4469 or after installing the Server Patch to version 10.2.4457 or higher.

c. Forgot Password: If your log on fails, a Forgot Password link will appear (image below). Click the link and answer the questions to reset your password.

Once reset, your password will be the same as your username. If your username were abc123 you would log on with username=abc123 and password=abc123, at which point you would be prompted to select a new password.

d. Change Your Questions: At any point you may change your security questions and answers. From the Procare Home screen go to Configuration > User > click Security Questions. You must know your current password.

Answering Security Questions – Forgot Answers

You must answer both questions to reset your password. The answers are not case sensitive. If you don’t know the answer to one or both questions, your supervisor can reset your password. See: Supervisor Reset.

  1. Enter your Username and click Load Questions.

Choosing Questions & Answers

Select questions to which only you would know the answer. If everyone knows your favorite movie, because you talk about it or post it on Facebook, choose a different question.

  1. Enter your current password.

  2. Select your security questions. You must select two different questions.

  3. Type your answers. Answers are not case sensitive, so “Finding Nemo” is the same as “finding nemo” or “finDing neMo”.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Make a Backup (recommended). This way your newly selected questions and answers will become part of the backup. If you ever need to restore the backup, it will be easy for you to reset your password. Of course if you happen to restore an old backup, one made before choosing your security questions, you won’t be able to reset a password without help.
