Tuition Express – Screen Saver Configuration

Tuition Express users are required to have a password protected screen saver set to lock the computer after 15 minutes (or less) of inactivity. This will protect you from an unauthorized user accessing your computer and attempting to conduct illegal activities.

Mandatory Screen Saver Settings
Please make sure that your computer is Password protected and both the User Name and Password meet the complexity requirements referenced in the Tuition Express PA DSS Implementation Guide.

Unacceptable Screen Savers
The screen savers called Blank and Bubbles cannot be used.

WINDOWS VISTA

At your main desktop “Right Click” the mouse and the above Pop up screen will appear. When you select the “Personalize” option the following screen will appear.

On the “Personalize Appearance and Sounds” screen Click on “Screen Saver” to activate the following screen.

In the Screen Saver section adjust the “Wait” time to 15 minutes (or less) and check the “On Resume, Display Log on Screen”. Once you have set the Wait time and checked the “On Resume” box click “Apply”. This will result in your idle computer activating the screen saver after the designated wait time and restrict access to only those that have the proper access credentials (User Name & Password).

WINDOWS XP

On your desktop “Right Click” the mouse and the above Pop up screen will appear. You will select the “Properties” option and the “Display Properties” screen will appear.

In the “Display Properties” screen select the Screen Saver tab at the top. Adjust the “Wait” time to 15 minutes (or less) and check the “On Resume, Password Protect box. Once you have set the Wait time and checked the “On Resume, Password Protect box click “Apply”. This will result in your idle computer activating the screen saver after the designated wait time and restrict access to only those that have the proper access credentials (User Name & Password).

WINDOWS 2000

With your mouse pointer on your desktop “Right Click” the mouse and the above Pop up screen will appear. Select the “Properties” option and the “Display Properties” screen will appear.

In the “Appearance and Personalization” screen click on the “Screen Saver” button. This will launch the following screen which will allow you to set the “Wait” time.
